20 mile Wednesday

A very nice day in the neighborhood.

Clear skies and nice temps up on Birthday Knob

Still some snow in the shady spots.

Fortunatly, most of the downhill, single track was good to go with very little snow.

I stopped for a short out and back that I had never ridden and it was a blast. I was able to ride up a little over a mile and it was fun stuff to ride back down. I'll be back to explore more of this.

Back at Wilsons.

Total shoe failure. The cleat is still in the pedal.

Chattooga Day

Mike Huggins and I met at exit 86 at 8:15 and we were back on the interstate by 8:25. We met Johnny Calhoun at Hwy 76 around 11:00. Low water at about 1.4 but still fun.

These pot-holes are incredible. They are all up and down the Chattooga.Mike spotted two bald eagles on the paddle out across Lake Tugaloo.

He was really poseing for me. This is one of those times I wish I had a SLR.

It is truly a beautiful drive between the Chattooga and Glen Alpine!

Babel Tower Hike

I meet up with Johnny Calhoun and Crankee for a hike into Linville.

Table Rock and Hawksbill in the background. I cant believe I dont hike over here more often. On the other hand, I wont be going back until some of the ice on Old 105 thaws. There were some very tense sections of driving on the way up.

Table Rock and Hawksbill are awesome no matter which angle your viewing them from.
