After Work Epic

Mr. Ring Neck No Shoulders was laying out on Craig Creek Rd. I prodded him off the road. Click on the pics for a closeup.
Craig Creek was almost covered with leaves:
It wasnt my birthday but it was still good to be back at Birthday Knob:

The Play Ground:A little cloudy at Grandfather Mountain:

The sun was right over the falls. I got there at about 6:00 and it was most excellent.

I was able to make the dry foot crossing at Harper Creek.
On my ride out I didnt have time to go to the main Harper Creek Falls but I did find a little trail that allowed me to slip down to the creek and the tree color along the creek was stunning.

I made it out to Wilson Creek at dusk. I'm glad to say one more that I couldnt have timed any better. I left the car and the bridge at Wilson Creek at 4:45 and returned at 7:08 and still had time for a few pics and one break.
Thank goodness one trail is closed to horses. I was dissapointed to see the recent damage inflicted on Raidercamp by what looked like a herd of horses.

Sunday: Wilsons Shuttle Ride, Obie Style. We missed you dude!

Jason, Johnny Calhoun, Big Jimi, MH, Bob, Sarah, and I met up and proceeded to shuttle up to Raspberry, drop Greentown, climb Chestnut, then back down Bee Hive. No takers for the Falls this trip so I'll be going after that later in the week. I feel like I left something up there by missing the falls but it'll be there tomorrow... Hopefully I will be as well!
The crew goin' up on the subtle shuttle (could someone crack the window please) good times with a fun group:
MH and Jason:
Thanks for the pics Bob and Sarah.

The site of my flat:

Please reposition your seat appropriate to a more downward traveling position...

18 Miles of Pisgah with MH and Big Jimi. The tour of Claw Hammer, Black Mtn, Thrift Cove, Grassy Rd, and Sycamore Cove. Sweet ride!

The plan had been to meet up with Johnny Calhoun, Brotha Man, Sarah, and Elvis but I had met up with MH and Big Jimi down in Brevard for some breakfast and the proposed meeting place with the rest of the crew was back in the direction I had come from and then some up into North Mills country. I was already chomping at the bit to get out being so close to Clawhammer/Black Mtn and so much more plus MH and Big Jimi were planning to head back to the orchard post ride. I offered up the stuff that we could start into momentarily that would also be conveinient to their evening plans, they took the bait and the rest is history. Tres Amigos:We got to see Brad Kees, Curtis Burgess and some other Pisgah racers getting ready for the Double Dare. It sounded like a big day was in store for that crew, riding until around midnight then back up and riding at 6:00 am Sunday morning.

Ooo La La

We were all goin' retro on the brakes. All the bikes held up well. Big thanks to Big Jimi for truin' up the back wheel on the NRS. It rolled quite nicely.

So they taught me how to set the camera up to take a shot every couple of seconds:

They know how to treat their guide:
These two are too much fun.
Thanks for dinner Ya'll and the hell of a good time!
I got to see my 13th bear sighting today on the climb up from the Horse Stables.
