Up On Cripple Creek, up the Parkway then down Heartbreak Ridge and Jareds Creek Road

Started the ride with Johnny Calhoun and Steven Hughes but JC's back started giving him problems so he headed up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Curtis Creek Rd and back to his car.

It was icy in patches on the Parkway and closed down to traffic. The temperature was pretty chilly up at the higher elevations but exceptional conditions at Curtis Creek and on the climb up.

The hike a bike from the parkway up to the plateau was covered in snow. We hit a few more patches of snow coming down Heartbreak but mostly the trail was in great shape.

It looked like someone had a little too much fun Saturday Night at the Linville Access on Lake James. It was gone when I passed by that evening.

It was pretty chilly so I didnt get out for pics many times.

The level was great and the falls treated us well.

Lake James Kayak

I had planned an early morning lake paddle but it was in the teens when I got up, far too cold to be paddling. Hans had called the prior evening and offered to cut down my two dead trees. I called him about 10 and he was at the house in 25 minutes. He dropped them both and we ran some errands.Later in the afternoon I was on Lake James.

After a couple of hours on the lake, back to the house for a campfire. I didnt even make a dent in the wood pile(s). Thanks again Hans.
