5/23/2015 Heartbreak Ridge MTB ride with Rick Johnston

Rick is getting ready for the Off Road Assault on Mt Mitchell (ORAMM for short) so we made the long climb up Curtis Creek to get to the Parkway. 

The pics in the post loaded in reverse order. No biggie tho, the weather was incredible and the views were "off the hook" clear!

Mike and I spent a lot of time paddling this creek. I stopped to clean up at this spot right before getting to the Visitors Center

Mike's two daughters (Melissa and Laurel) and his Grandson

 I wanted to pay tribute by riding my bike to the memorial and back home. It was a big day of riding and great way to remember my buddy Mike. A lot of time to think while turning the pedals.

5/12 and 5/13/15 Vacation Days spent with Noel. We had a Blast!

Noel and I started the visit with some touring and headed down Hwy 9 out of Black Mountain to Chimney Rock. We stopped for lunch at a little restaurant right on the Rocky Broad River.

 Day 2 we hiked up from Wolf Pit Road and saw this guy early in the morning.
