18 Miles of Pisgah with MH and Big Jimi. The tour of Claw Hammer, Black Mtn, Thrift Cove, Grassy Rd, and Sycamore Cove. Sweet ride!

The plan had been to meet up with Johnny Calhoun, Brotha Man, Sarah, and Elvis but I had met up with MH and Big Jimi down in Brevard for some breakfast and the proposed meeting place with the rest of the crew was back in the direction I had come from and then some up into North Mills country. I was already chomping at the bit to get out being so close to Clawhammer/Black Mtn and so much more plus MH and Big Jimi were planning to head back to the orchard post ride. I offered up the stuff that we could start into momentarily that would also be conveinient to their evening plans, they took the bait and the rest is history. Tres Amigos:We got to see Brad Kees, Curtis Burgess and some other Pisgah racers getting ready for the Double Dare. It sounded like a big day was in store for that crew, riding until around midnight then back up and riding at 6:00 am Sunday morning.

Ooo La La

We were all goin' retro on the brakes. All the bikes held up well. Big thanks to Big Jimi for truin' up the back wheel on the NRS. It rolled quite nicely.

So they taught me how to set the camera up to take a shot every couple of seconds:

They know how to treat their guide:
These two are too much fun.
Thanks for dinner Ya'll and the hell of a good time!
I got to see my 13th bear sighting today on the climb up from the Horse Stables.

Back on the Autobahn of Wilson Creek Wilderness: Raider Camp, taking the off ramps at the waterfalls

I parked just past Brown Mountain Beach, at the lower takeout for Wilson Creek. I got there early enough to avoid traffic. I started my ride about 9:45.

The NRS held up but the shock FOX was low on air, it was all good though.
On to the main Harper Creek Falls:
My way back up to the bike, the rope:
This little house was very well hidden. I've passed it countless times and have never noticed it thanks to the thick shrubbery & bamboo fence that hides it. I almost ran over a snake which caused me to swerve and slow down enough to notice it, I had to explore.
The out house ^
and the main house:
A tough slot at the right level ^

The last time I ran this section with Gaston, Layla, and JC we discussed a line through the river right side of the rapid below after Johnny Cee got broached there. Pretty busy in there.Amos' Epics
