After work Thursday evening paddle

Finally a little bit of after work paddlin'. Gaston Surfin' it up.

Surfed some sweet waves, did some paddlin', played in a hole, did some more paddlin', surfed a wave, did some more paddlin, then walked the greenway from the river up to the house in the dark. Not an epic but fun stuff for sure. Paddled from about 6:20ish to 9:ish. Hope they keep having the 2 unit releases in the evening, it'll help me get ready for the Gauley.

Sunday ride with Mock Orange Crew

Mock Orange was the dominant color on Sunday. At least my bike qualified.Sorry it has taken me all week to post this. Riding with these guys was a blast.
I love it when I get to take pics of SH jumps. These guys smoothed it. Two very nice lines.
I'm sorry to say that Joshua L. had an accident on Sunday at one of the berms on Raspberry. He hit a rock and fractured his scapula. I'll try to clear away the random rocks below the berms on my next Rasp ride. Speedy recovery Josh!

Saturdays ride: the Whole Encilada

This dude jumped from higher than anyone I've seen out there.
I've been as slow as a mushroom getting this post together.
Amos' Alpine Epic Adventures
Big loop Saturday. After I hiked down from Hawksbill, I cooked up some breakfast, mealed down, and met up with G and Johnny Calhoun at the "dirt mounds"around 10:30. We proceeded to ride up hwy 181 to GT trailhead and ride GT, Upper Falls, PR, YB, up to the Falls for a swim and spectate some "cliff jumpin'", back out to Wilson Creek, up Craig Creek Rd, and SH to Lower Upper Creek and the last climb back up and out to the dirt mounds. One exceptional ride!
Another angle of Grandfather.
The upper falls. The fleet. North Harper Creek

Good way to spend your Saturday.

The trailhead up to Hawksbill. It has been a while since I had been up to the top. It wont be so long before the next time.
Great opportunity to try out the TrailFlex back pack system Mountain Techs gave me to review. Yeah it is a self portrait - gotta prove I'm using the pack!
At the summit. The pack fit well even if my shirt didnt. I love this place!
Some freaky bat action after dark.Sunset.
Johnny Calhoun got up there about 10:00 p.m. Only 2 other campers on top.
Sunup Saturday morning:Grandfather Mountain on the right and the Hotel to the left. Variations on a theme. That spot just off the point of the rock was a humingbird. An explosion of light.Check out the holes in the rocks. Crazy trail through there.Yes thats the trail and it is as steep as it looks.
