Sunday: parkway exploration and hikes

Why is it that I love this site so much?
That bright white strip running down that mountain is that same dry creek bed that I keep looking at from the Black Mtn Crest hike:
An interesting view of Table Rock:
Time for some brunch just off the Parkway, chicken noodle soup for the cold, PB&J, and fix up some lunch meat and bacon sanwiches to eat during the hikes later.Table Rock and Hawksbill just over the top:
Let the hikes begin. I had not driven down 464 in a long time. I started off with Big Lost Cove Ridge to Big Lost Cove Cliffs:
That guy looks very small in the "big picture":
Onto Darkside Cliffs. I could actually hear some people all the way down at Hunt Fish Falls on Lost Cove. There were about 5 church buses parked at the trailhead for HFF but not another soul on Darkside Cliffs:
Reflections:
I have never seen this many rocks from this vantage point before!

SaturNight: Southern Culture on the Skids

After the Heartbreak ride, I took a quick and cold bath in the creek and hit the road. Southern Culture even rocked the house doing their sound check. They are one of my all time favorite live acts. My smile muscles are still sore! I've seen them 3 times now and his guitar playing has always been right on the money. Smooth, clean, solid playing.
The Zander crew. What a blast we had. Thanks for everything! Ya'll are awesome.
The opening act was The Dex Romweber Duo, a brother and sister act. She played the hell out of those drums! I really enjoyed their fast tempo songs.
The "Real Deal" - this aint no sound check!
They changed it up a little bit since the last time I saw them. They started throwing out Bannana Pudding first, moved on to throwing out Little Debbie Cakes, then by the time they got ready to throw chicken, someone had eaten it all! Now that I think of it, I did see Matt tearing into a chicken leg.
A little banana pudding on the finger:
Mary eating a spoonful of Bannana pudding: That was a good time! I cant wait until next time.

SaturDay: Heartbreak Ridge

Johnny Calhoun, BrothaMan Bob High, The Green River Crew: Brooks, Crankee aka Chris, Steven, and Jared:
The work release group walking up the stairs:
Bob High calling his sweetie (thanks for the hug Sara, Bob delivered).

Johnny Calhoun wouldnt let me take a picture of him but like any good paparazi, I snuck in one as he discussed the global economy and other world affairs with Brooks.

How can anyone not like this trail?

The end of the single track, what a great run it was.
