I hiked until I got to a section of trail that was covered with snow deep enough to cover my boots. I ended up with wet socks but it was worth it. It was really cold and windy at that altitude as well. That is where I came across the tracks above. I think it was a cat since there was no claws showing. I think the size of a Bob Cat.
Blue Blaze to Mountains to Sea Trail
The first shot was from the Dysartsville overpass. I was there and it looked good
Onto the Blue Blaze Trail and The Linville River:
A Christmas Day Hike in the Snow with Layla, Gaston, and Felix. Back on the Blue Blaze Trail.
The girls woke Clare Ann and me up at 5:30 to pen Christmas presents. Noel was back asleep by 7:30 but I was ready to get on the move. I called Gaston and Layla after a nice blanket of snow had laid down on the ground to see if they wanted to get out. We met up an hour later at the Blue Blaze Trail head.
A Good Weekend & the first snow up on Gingercake
Friday night I camped with Johnny Calhoun off of the FS Rd on the way up to the parking lot at the base of Table Rock. We found a site right off of the road and only had one car pass our camp the entire night.
It was cold and the first thing we did was start a fire. The snow started shortly after we got there. As you can see by the next morning we had a nice layer.

Halloween
I parked at Wilson Creek and started with the Small Spike - up and back on Lower Wilson Ridge. Then I climbed up Craig Creek Rd to the pass, Birthday Knob, onto summit Chestnut Mtn (the Big Spike) then back down and onto the Big O & FS Road back to day use only Wilson Creek.
