Oct. 13th & 14th at the Gauley

Final Gauley season release weekend. Saturday started out like just another day on the Upper Gauley until we were at the Bears Den, less than a mile from the take out of the Upper section. Steven suggested a marathon, Johnny Calhoun jumped on board and I couldnt think of a good reason not to do it. Luke decided to go as well. Buddy, Chris, Jared, and John opted out and did a big solid by running shuttle to the Lower. I dont know if it is 24 or 26 miles on the river, but a big day for sure.
This guy got a rock spin at the top of Pillow Rock rapid. I was impressed, it was a cool move.
Luke, Steven, Jared, and Buddy. The marathon crew fueling up. It was a big day with a lot of river miles in playboats!

Day 2: Another excellent day on the Upper Gauley. Luke had some car trouble so he and John ended up running the Lower section after getting the van rolling. Chris, Steven, Johnny, Jared and I rallied for a last run of the Gauley for the 2007 season.

Some shots from Virginia on the way home.

The colors were beautiful in VA already.
