Pisgah: Black Mtn and Trace Ridge

Wesley agreed to take me to some Pisgah trails I had never ridden. Now I understand all the hype!
Excellent single track downhills:Challenging single track uphill climbs:Awesome overlooks:
Ridgeline trails:
New views:We even saw some sun light for about 1 minute:
Trail number 127: Black Mountain was Great! The ride up 5058 was well worth the single track. Even the hike-a-bike paid off big time. I cant wait to get back and do this one again. I'm going to try to hit it twice next time and really dial it in.
At Pressley Gap we ran into 5 members of a Canadian race team. They had come down south for some winter training and had actually dropped some of their team earlier in the day. While we were talking to them, 2 more Canadians rode up. They were not affiliated with the race team but were also taking advantage of the southern weather. Off the hook!
Rain spit on us enough to make some of the roots a little slippery but overall we were very fortunate. Those trails are extremly well maintained
After our Black Mountain loop we decided to head to North Mills to fire up Trace Ridge. Another ride up the Forest Service road with a big pay off of single track down hill. This time we did the up hill on FS5000. It was not too bad at all. After a little jog over to Trace Ridge on Spencer Branch, it was on. More incredible down hill. When do I get to go back?Wesley at Trace Ridge.
